Richard Knapp, MA and MA. Ed. - Voice
Richard Knapp, baritone, performs actively in opera, oratorio and concert. He performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago in a principal role, in the chorus, and in the ballet, and also performed with Chicago Opera Theater, Opera de Lafayette, and many other opera companies. He made his solo debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2001, and has been a soloist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Kansas City Symphony, The Lake Shore Symphony, the Southwest Symphony, and The Choral Ensemle of Chicago. He was a finalist for the Friedrich Schorr Prize, an award winner in the MacDowell Society Vocal Competition, and was one of the Alan Stone Debut Artsists for three years. His operatic, repertory of more than 20 roles includes Figaro, Count Almaviva, Don Giovanni, Malatesta, Guglielmo, Masetto, Papageno, and Silvio. He is an active recitalist, and specializes in the songs of Schubert and Schumann. He also danced profesisonally for over 15 years, performing with the American Ballet Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem, the Kalamazoo Ballet Company and Ann Arbor Ballet Theatre. Mr. Knappp recently relocated to Michigan from Chicago, where he was on the faculty of the VanderCook College of Music, and has sung the national anthem for the Chicago Cubs, White Sox, and Balckhawks. Richard earned a Masters of Education in Music from VanderCook College of Music and a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy from Northeastern Illinois University. Richard has been teaching elementary music with the Ann Arbor Public Schools since 2003.

Ken Kozora - Trumpet, Flute
Ken Kozora has been exploring sound for over 35 years playing trumpet, bass,synthesizer, electronic percussion, wind synth, flutes, hand percussion and any other new noisemaker he happens to stumble upon. In the early days of MIDI development he promoted and helped integrate music technology into school and university music programs throughout Michigan. Ken has recorded and performed with a wide variety of local and renowned national artists, leads his own world / jazz quartet “KOZORA”, performs solo for special events and composes music for dance and various media. He is the founder and Director of the Horns for the Holidays instrument recycling and donation program, is a board member of Riverfolk Music & Arts and contracts as an event planner for the Ecology Center. He is designing an educational workshop combining sustainability concepts and music technology and also likes to mangle photos with his computer in his spare time.

Natalie Clyne - Voice, Piano
Vocalist Natalie Clyne received a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers in New Jersey. She has been an active teacher and performer in the New York/New Jersey area for the past several years. She sang as a soloist and vocal ensemble member at many venues including Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center.  Her performances have encompassed a variety of musical styles such as opera, art song, folk, musical theater, sacred, and popular.

Natalie studied vocal pedagogy with Judith Nicosia, a highly respected member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She teaches voice to students of all ages and levels and also enjoys working with beginning to intermediate piano students.

Nermis Mieses - Oboe, English Horn
Nermis Mieses, oboist, was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She attended the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music graduating Summa Cum Laude. She was awarded the Wind and Percussion Department Medal and the Roberto I. Ferdman Award from Pro-Arte Musical. Ms. Mieses concurrently pursued a Bachelor degree in Finance at the University of Puerto Rico where she graduated Cum Laude and received the Highest Grade Point Average Medal.

At the age of fifteen, Nermis performed with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra under the direction of the Associate Conductor Roselín Pabón. She has participated in the  Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Americas Festival, Idyllwild Arts Summer Festival and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Ms. Mieses has also participated in Master Classes with Mark Weiger, Alex Klein, Pedro Díaz and Liang Wang.

In Puerto Rico she studied with David Bourns and Dr. Frances Colón. Currently Ms. Mieses is a graduate student at the University of Michigan studying under Dr. Nancy Ambrose King and performs frequently with the
Plymouth Symphony and the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.
